Director of Technical Operations 

My Client is an outsourcing business partner for a computer hardware manufacturer engaged in processing sales returns and factory excess.  The Director of Technical Operations will manage the day to day operations of the plant from receiving, to disassembly, testing of individual components and ultimately repackaging and delivery to end client. 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Manage plant operations and enhance complex, consignment/perpetual inventory systems and methodologies. 
  • Responsible for inventory management. 
  • Accountable for production operations end to end. 
  • Manage software systems for point of sale transactions, customer resource management, inventory control, inventory/sales analysis, operations reporting, job costing, estimating and order fulfillment. Production, order fulfillment, supply chain systems and transportation. 
  • Responsible for project cost controls; work in process reporting. 
  • Interface with internal functional areas including Finance, and Sales and in order to meet customer requirements the most efficient and profitable manner.
  • Mentor and train management staff on lean six sigma analysis and tool sets. 
  • Established metrics and standard operating procedures (SOP�s).  
  • Develop process improvement projects in order to improve profitability and decrease defects in current processes

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Must have a Bachelors degree, preferably in Information Technology or Engineering. 
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferable in computer hardware. 
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving, team building, total quality management, ingenuity and initiative in order to execute requirements of the role within a team environment.  
  • Must have experience managing teams of up to 10 people. 
  • Demonstrated a track record of developing and executing strategies and utilizing resources to effectively meet organizational objectives. 
  • High ethical standards demonstrated by the approach to business and must have the ability to set the tone and impact results for the organization. 
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and listening).
  • Must have deep technical understanding of computer hardware. 
  • Ability to gain support of other managers and staff to implement change without direct supervisory control.
